Like the Confederation Bridge in Canada, the deconstruction of Western subjectivity has been a point of disagreement in feminist debates. While some see subjectivity as a dangerous concept that needs to be demolished for the sake of the feminist struggle, others argue that the rights of women can only achieved through the attainment of this very subjectivity.
